LAWRIE Boyd is a proud member and volunteer of more than 50 years of the Kilmore Cricket and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management.
It is believed that the Kilmore committee the oldest committee of management in Victoria.
As part of National Volunteer Week the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) held a special event at the Kilmore Cricket and Recreation Reserve to recognise Lawrie’s contribution to the community.
The Kilmore Cricket and Recreation Reserve was first gazetted on 22 March 1858, with the first trustees being appointed on 13 October 1859.
The site has played host to several different activities during its 160 years including community festivals, athletics, sports events, football, wrestling and cricket dating back to 1850.
