New disability support group

INSPIRING Kilmore East couple, Mandy and Rod McCracken have formulated a plan to promote disability support services for residents in the Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires.
Well known and respected for their advocacy work on the speaking circuit when it comes to the way they have coped with Mandy’s quadruple amputation in 2013, the couple have formulated a plan for an information and social group for people with a new disability, called “My New Life Group.”
Life with a new disability can be daunting. It’s a situation Mandy and Rod know only too well.
“Rod and I found a massive hole in the system when we came home from hospital and this is also very much from a carer’s point of view,” Mandy said.
