Lions set to continue work

THE Lions Club of Wandong-Wallan recently celebrated their 44th annual changeover at the Australiana Motel in Wandong.
Attended by more than 80 members, partners and friends from other clubs including, Broadford, Goulburn-Seymour, Heathcote, Whittlesea, Waverley and Romsey-Lancefield, the night was a great success.
Lion and past District Governor David Jones inducted the new executive and Wandong Lion Clyde Riley was MC for the evening.
Clyde was also surprised when he was presented with the Melvin Jones Foundation Award. This award is the highest form of recognition that can be awarded to a Lions member worldwide and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the purpose of Lionism.
Another local, John Perrett was presented with the President’s Award for his years of service.
Over the last few years the club has grown from 19 members to 45 and continues to grow with another two members to be inducted into the club in the next few months.
