THE musical comedy Guys and Dolls Jnr presented by the BATS Youth Theatre Entertainment group has opened in Broadford to rave reviews.
Directed by Geradine O’Brien, and with a cast of more than 25 young performers from across the Mitchell Shire, Guys and Dolls Jnr is a musical comedy classic about rolling the dice and falling in love under the lights of Broadway.
Set in Damon Runyon's New York City, Guys and Dolls Jnr follows gambler, Nathan Detroit, as he tries to find the cash to set up the biggest crap game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years without ever getting married.
Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, but Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown.
Guys and Dolls Jnr takes audiences from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana. Featuring timeless classics including Luck Be a Lady Tonight, If I Were a Bell and Sit Down Your Rockin’ the Boat this show will have you humming the show’s tunes all the way home.
Performances dates are this Friday, September 1 at 7.30pm and Sunday, September 3 at 2pm at the Broadford Shire Hall. To book your tickets call 0457 264 732 or visit www.bats.net.au/bookings.
